♥ Book Title : Pegasus In Flight
☯ Full Synopsis : "Earth was at bursting point, in spite of the birth restrictions of only one child to each couple. Extra children existed in a sub-cultured world or were rounded up into slavery. The only hope was the space platform -- the jumping-off point for the colonization of other worlds. But more Talents were needed to build and operate those platforms. Rhyssa Owen was the one responsible, both for finding Talents and training them. And when she felt the first encroachment of a mind reaching out to her, she knew it was exceptional -- a fourteen-year-old boy with incredibly powerful kinetic ability. And in the seamy underworld of near-criminal children was another brilliant mind in danger from a ruthless group of child kidnappers. Rhyssa knew she had to find the two children and train them for the survival of earth."Article| Anne McCaffrey| Statement ..."

♥ Book Title : The Flight of Pegasus
☯ Full Synopsis : "Robert the Risen begins at the Fall of Acre (A.D. 1291) when Robert is pulled out of the rubble of the collapsed castle (after three days—hence his new surname). Bektash al-Fakhri, a Mameluk general, is his captor, and Robert is recruited to Bektash’s body guard detail for the next seventeen years. Among the others in Bektash’s retinue are a Buddhist monk (whose acupuncture brought Robert back to life), an itinerant Irish priest, Sufi warriors, and others. Over the course of Robert’s enslavement, a dialogue among spiritual cousins (Jewish, Christian, and Muslim) is mediated by the Buddhist monk. They exchange ideas, meditation practices, and generally challenge each other to attain Enlightenment. Except, of course, when they aren’t engaged in the numerous battles the Mameluks fight over these turbulent years. When Bektash dies, Robert is manumitted in the general’s will, and Robert heads home. In Tunis, he finds that the French king arrested all the Templars in France on various charges, and the pope let him get away with it. When Robert’s party gets to France, Robert is imprisoned in the pope’s estate. There Robert confronts the pope, eventually escapes, and finally reunites with his cousin, William the Fearless, in London. The story is historically accurate. The speculative pieces are in the spiritual practices the Templars were alleged to have learned from the Sufis and the Gnostics. The further speculation is about what happens psychologically to ‘warrior monks,’ hence, the inclusion of a Buddhist monk from the Shaolin Monastery. Since the author holds both a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology, which explores the psychology of all religions and is an 8th degree black belt (Master) in Kung Fu San Soo, he is uniquely qualified to engage in this speculation."Article| Bruce Bibee| Statement ..."
♥ Book Title : Pegasus, The Heart of the Harrier
☯ Full Synopsis : "The conception of the Pegasus engine in 1957 upset all the conventions of aircraft design. It was previously usual for aircraft designers to seek a suitable engine, but this was an engine that sought an aircraft. The aircraft that resulted was the famous Harrier that is still in front-line service with air forces around the world including the RAF and US Marine Corps. This book takes an in-depth look at the engine's original design concept, initial production and flight testing. It then goes on to explain how the developments and improvements have been made over the ensuing years and includes experiences of operational combat flying, both from land and sea. The book is written in a non technical style that makes comfortable reading for all enthusiasts and historians and is copiously illustrated with many previously unseen photographs and diagrams."Article| Andrew Dow| Statement ..."
♥ Book Title : On Pegasus Wings
☯ Full Synopsis : "Ever since I started learning to play the guitar fifty-some years ago, writing my own songs and putting words to rhythm and rhyme has become a sort of hobby that I use to fill my spare time. Whenever I feel that some phrase, concept, or event in my life warrants expression in song or poetic verse, I sit down and work it out in the moment and then store it away in one of my notebooks. Over the years, and as my consciousness moves increasingly into spiritual things, expressing concepts poetically seems the natural medium for spiritual thoughts and feelings and thus my writings turn more to poetry and poetic prose. One day I decided to organize them into coherent order and only then did it occur to me that someone else might be interested in that which had flowed so effortlessly off the end of my pen over the years. There are roughly 40 poems, 19 song lyrics, 7 letters or stories, and six author s commentaries here between these covers. Hopefully, more than a few will be inspiring, entertaining, or provoking of profound thought. If, however there is just one that you read over and over again down through the years, this book will be worthy of its place in your family library."Article| Kit Cain| Statement ..."

♥ Book Title : Selected Poems
☯ Full Synopsis : "Selected Poems by L. A. Murillo L. A. Murillo traces an entire lifetime of dedication to poetical expression, from early maturity of the 1950s across the second half of the twentieth century, as well as the postwar decades of American global hegemony and prosperity to the end of the Cold War. After his striking poems of "Eisode" and their structuralist overtones, his voice and vision moved to the highlights of "Verses to the River of Los Angeles" and "The Stones of Venice" the first, a songbook, celebrates the city, its river and environment, and river crossings as a poetical metropolis; the second formalizes into lines of poetry the architecture and art of Venice as post-modernist recall of John Ruskin. The poems of his final phase propose a fusion of an impersonal, scientific outlook with an elegiac subjectivity. About the Author L. A. Murillo is a poet who speaks and writes in both Spanish and English. At the age of twenty, this California native, like the young men of his generation, had enlisted in the military during World War II. He joined the Army Air Corps and served overseas in the Fifteenth Air Force in Italy in 1944-1945. The experience of air combat over Europe evoked a postwar reaction to life in California and New England expressed in the poems of "Eisode" and the reflective poems of "The Great War," a look back to the world wars of the first half of the twentieth century. Up to now, his poetry has been printed privately, by Patrick Reagh and others, and has been circulated within a circle of friends and been available at public libraries."Article| L. A. This gripping account of it by acclaimed author Stephen Ambrose brings to life a daring mission so crucial that, had it been unsuccessful, the entire Normandy invasion might have failed. Ambrose traces each step of the preparations over many months to the minute-by-minute excitement of the hand-to-hand confrontations on the bridge. This is a story of heroism and cowardice, kindness and brutality -- the stuff of all great adventures."Article| Stephen E. Ambrose| Statement ..."
